AMU exists as a private higher education institution for the fulfillment of the following goals:-
- To produce competent and employable graduates for the domestic and international markets in health sciences and various other disciplines.
- To contribute to nation building by broadening access to tertiary education for the populace.
- To create, generate and grow employment opportunities for the development of specific disciplines of study by recognizing local and foreign talents.
- As a business in education, to generate a healthy and growing stream of returns on investment for the investors and shareholders.
