Question (Q): What is the difference between Approval , Minimum Standards and Accreditation ?
Answer ( A) : Approval is a written consent issued by the Higher Education Ministry (KPT) and the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA) to enable MASTERSKILL to conduct courses of study. Approvals must be obtained before we are allowed to conduct our courses of study.
Minimum Standards is the level to be achieved by MASTERSKILL before it awards any certificates / Diploma / Degree for its courses of study.
Accreditation is a formal recognition of the fact that the certificates, diplomas and degrees awarded by MASTERSKILL are in accordance with the standards set by MQA. Our graduates, with this MQA Accreditation , would be able to work both in Private and Government Sector.
Q: How important it is for MASTERSKILL to get approval from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT)?
A: It is important for MASTERSKILL to get approval from KPT, because as a Private Institution Higher Education (PIHE) we need to be registered as - ‘Kolej' , under the College-University Act (AKU-Akta kolej-Universiti) and under the Private Institution Higher Education Act (Akta Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Swasta).
Q: Are MASTERSKILL courses recognized by PSD (JPA), approved by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), Ministry of Health (KKM) and the National Accreditation Board (LAN)? Why is it so important for a private college like MASTERSKILL to have JPA recognition?
A: PSD (JPA), the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), KKM and MQA recognize and approve Programmes of studies offered at MASTERSKILL . Our Diploma in Nursing (A1170) is fully accredited by MQA.
The JPA recognition is very important for a private college like MASTERSKILL because our students would be able to be employed in the Government Sector as well.
Q : What are the minimum entry requirements for students to enter MASTERSKILL programmes?
A : The minimum entry for our Diploma in Nursing course, one must have 4 credits in SPM - Bahasa Malaysia, One science subject, English and Maths - EXCLUDING literature subjects.
As for the Diploma in Pharmacy course, a student must have a credit in chemistry or biology, Bahasa Malaysia and 2 other credits - EXCLUDING literature subject.
As for other fields like Diploma in Physiotherapy , Environmental Health , Medical Lab Technology, Medical Imaging - students must have a credit in Bahasa Malaysia, any one (1) science subject and 2 other credits - EXCLUDING literature subject.
As for our new program the DIPLOMA IN HEALTHCARE - a student only requires to have a minimum of 3 credits with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia .
Q : Can I be assured of employment after graduating from MASTERSKILL ?
A : Yes, most definitely . Our Nursing programme is fully recognized by the Public Services Department (JPA), the Health Ministry of Malaysia (KKM), the Higher Education Ministry of Malaysia (KPT) and FULLY accredited by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA).
All the other Diploma Programmes (Allied health programmes) in MASTERSKILL are recognized and approved by the JPA, KKM, KPT and given PROVISIONAL ACCREDITATION (PA) by MQA.
Therefore, MASTERSKILL students can be employed at any Government or private hospitals or Health Institutions.
Q : Can I apply for a study loan?
A: Yes, as long you are a Malaysian citizen you can apply for a study loan. As for MASTERSKILL students, all students are eligible to apply for PTPTN loan and all students are given a 100% study loan from PTPTN.
Q: If my English Language is bad, can I enroll into the courses at MASTERSKILL ? How would MASTERSKILL help me to improve my English?
A : The English Language is most important for all advanced and professional studies. This is a fact, more so when we are heading towards globalisation. Knowing this, we at MASTERSKILL have established an intensive, state-of-the-art English Language learning programme called ELLIS, which uses IBM think centre as the platform. The classes are conducted in our computer labs where students log into the programme and learn English interactively. Being an autonomous learning programme with minimum tutor supervision, students would feel more ‘at home' thus learn the language effectively.
Q: If I am accepted as a student in MASTERSKILL , is Hostel (accommodation) provided?
A : YES .

A : You Do NOT have to pay anything. It is provided for FREE.

A : We provide Transport for FREE - bus services to ferry students from hostels to college campuses and vice versa. MASTERSKILL transport is also available to fetch students to places of worship-to mosques for Friday prayers, church and temple. We have about 23 buses plying the routin from within MASTERSKILL campus to hostels.
